To walk through step by step, please follow along below:

Creating a campaign is a very simple process. Our step by step wizard will guide you through the entire process. Below is a quick guide to setting up a campaign from start to finish. From the admin dashboard, click ‘Create pURL Campaign

Step One

Domain Name
There are two types of domains you can choose from for your pURL campaign. You can either choose to use the boingnet.com domain or to use your own domain. If you choose to use the boingnet.com domain, your resultant pURLs will look like

http://<subdomain>.boingnet.com/<optional name>/First<seperator>Last

If you choose to use your own domain, your resultant pURLs will look like:

http://First<seperator>Last.<your domain>.com/<optional name>

or

http://www.<your domain>.com/First<seperator>Last

pURL Separator
You can choose what separator character you want use in creating your pURLs or you can choose to use no separator at all. This separator will go between the first and last name within the pURL.

No Separator: http://FirstLast.mycompany.com

Underscore Separator: http://First_Last.mycompany.com

Dash Separator: http://First-Last.mycompany.com

Campaign Name / Subdomain
If you are using your own domain, you can choose to optionally use a campaign name at the end of the domain. This is a good way to reuse the same domain for multiple campaigns keeping the namespaces and reporting separate.  Using a campaign name will result in pURLs like:

http://FirstLast.mycompany.com/springspecial

http://FirstLast.mycompany.com/winterspecial

http://FirstLast.mycompany.com/summerspecial

If you are using a boingnet style domain, the subdomain choice will be used in the first position of the URL. In a boingnet URL, the campaign name and subdomain are both required. Using your own domain name, campaignname is optional

http://subdomain1.boingnet.com/campaign_name/FirstLast

http://subdomain2.boingnet.com/campaign_name/FirstLast

Mailing Lists
There are two styles of campaigns.

* One is a direct mail style campaign where each recipient will have a unique URL such as

http://John_Doe.myompany.com or http://John_Doe.myompany.com/campign_name

* The other is a campaign without unique recipients for use in media such as radio, tv, billboards, newspaper ads, etc. These URLs will look like this:

http://www.myompany.com or http://www.myompany.com/campign_name

Mailing List File
A comma delimited file (CSV) is necessary to import your mailing list into the system. Here is a a sample CSV file.

Once you have your mail file in the proper format, click Browse to find the file on your local computer. Then click Upload to send the file so it can be used to create the campaign.

pURL Preview:
As you update various fields in the form, the pURL preview text will update as well. This is to show you what your pURL will look like upon completion.

Start Date
When do you plan on launching your campaign? This date will help with various reports

Microsite
Choose from the drop down list what micorsite should be used for this campaign.

Alerts
The tow checkboxes here allow you as the admin of the campaign to get instant alerts when a client has 1) Opened their pURL and/or 2) Completed a web form on their pURL. These settings can be adjusted once the campaign has been created by clicking Edit on the campaign from the campaign list page

Step Two
Field mapping is used for matching up our known fields with whatever is in your mailing list.

By mapping fields, you will be able to insert tokens into your microsite templates that will be replaced for each visitor to the site with their specific information. Here is a very simple example:

Let’s say we have a simple coupon template where we want to display the visitors first name and last name. Our template might look something like this:

Hi %First_Name% %Last_Name%,
Print this coupon for 20% off your next purchase

By mapping your data into our known fields, the landing page would look like this:

Hi John Doe,
Print this coupon for 20% off your next purchase

The first two fields are the only two that are required. They are the fields that will determined what the pURL will look like. Standard choice is First Name and Last name but you can choose whatever you want for the this.

Step Three
Ensure all the data is correct from the confirmation page. Each block provides an Edit link allowing you to return to that section in the wizard and update the information in question.

Once you are satisfied with the campaign setup, click Confirm to process your payment and create your campaign. Payment is made through the pURL credits system. In order to launch a campaign, you need to ensure you have enough pURL credits by checking your balance. So long as you have enough to launch the campaign, the creation process will compete and your account will be debited the appropriate number of pURL credits from your account.

Step Four
The completion screen lets you know your transaction was complete. If there was any issue with your campaign creation or credit processing, it would be indicated here. A link is also provided to download your new CSV file containing the campaign pURLs.
